CoN Double Feature - June 2010
Sort of movie poster/promotional-esque drawings for two of our movies. Pretty fun to draw our own characters for a change. Especially Honbon, though I feel bad making such a happy bear look like terrorizing.

Paper Bag Sketches - Dec. 2009
I bought some supplies from the art store, including some awesome Copic markers that I used here, and they gave me everything in a paper bag. So I drew on it! Features an homage to our Low Budget Star Wars series. Completed Sept. 2009.

Spidey Sketches - Dec. 2009
Once upon a time I thought I would draw comic books, and so I practiced by drawing Spider-Man. As you can tell, I didn't really know how to draw torsos, so I just omitted them for the most part. It really only works for a contortionist like Spidey. Completed 2002.

Welcome to Our City! - October 2009
This was an image inspired by a tissue box I had one time that had a bunch of weird cartoony characters all over it. Pencils and inks by me, and coloured by Derek.

Kamen Rider Black RX - September 2009
Never seen this show, but I always like the suit. This was originally done on a neon green paper, but the green came out really bad after scanning the image, so I just desaturated completely.

Kamen Rider Decade - September 2009
Yup, it's a pink Rider. Drawn on bright pink paper, which actually worked out pretty well. Copic grey markers are awesome for shading! I also used a white out marker, which is actually hard to work with but gives some interesting results if used sparingly.

Joker (The Dark Knight) - July 2008
The whole world just can't get enough of The Joker! So just in case you're running out of pictures and footage of him to look at, here's something brand new! RIP HEATH MAN RIPRIP :(:(:(:(

Anung un Rama - April 2008
Haha, man, sometimes immigrant names are so funny. It's a good thing he got his American name Hellboy!

Hellboy - January 2008
I've been reading Hellboy comics, so I had to draw him, and I had to try out some of that Mike Mignola style hard shading. I have no idea what his process is, but I just figured it's stylized so I just put weird black shapes all over the place. Marker fumes are...dizzy.

Young Hellboy - January 2007
More of the same tests with the shading. I kind of messed it up so I had to cover it with more black than I wanted. Don't ask me what all that stuff is around him. It's really just to fill space.

Batman - January 2007
But where'd his neck go?! This one was fun to do because since he's almost completely covered in black, I barely had to draw anything. I think those black clouds are going to rain poisonous toxins.

Flower Cat - December 2007
It's a cat sticking its nose into some flowers. I actually put some thought into the composition of the drawing this time since it's more than just a single character/thing, but I still ended up not having enough room for the cat. Anyway, I tried more realistic drawing this time and kept it with pencils. And just like human hair, I hate drawing fur. Any kind of hair is bad. I should just draw bald people all the time.

Dekamaster - December 2007
Dekamaster from the Sentai show Dekaranger. He's a dog-man who somehow manages to fit his large snout inside a narrow helmet. I tried colouring this one with dying magic markers for some reason, and I really regret it. Wrong colours, bad colouring. Curse you, Crayola.

Melody Perkins #3 - November 2007
The last Melody Perkins drawing, I swear! She's a good practice drawing model. Very normal features. This was another headshot I copied from. Not much else to say. It's kind of bland and boring, but it came out alright.

Melody Perkins #2 - November 2007
Keep your clothes on, this is a PG web site! More Melody Perkins, and this time with a disproportionate head! It's a good thing I don't usually aim for much realism. It's a bad thing that I didn't try to do a silly caricature.

Ashley Hammond - September 2007
This is Ashley, the yellow ranger from Power Rangers in Space. She's not a mail carrier, though their symbol (pictured behind her) very closely resembles an envelope. Strange. Also strange how they had to wear these uniforms. You're living free in space, wear whatever you want!

Astronema - September 2007
"Fire the Satellasers!" "Destroy them!" Astronema is Princess of Evil from Power Rangers in Space, and if there was ever an episode where she didn't utter those two phrases, the series probably would've exploded. This one was pretty fun to ink because of the weird leathery thing she wears, and I was surprised it turned out pretty well despite me not knowing what I was doing.

Melody Perkins - October 2007
Melody Perkins is the actress who plays Astronema (the above drawing). I stumbled upon one of her headshots while I was looking for Astronema reference pictures, so I decided to draw it. I REALLY hate drawing hair.

Dulcea - October 2007
Remember the first Power Rangers movie? Probably not. Anyway, Dulcea helped lead the Rangers to their new ninja powers, and then turned into an owl and flew away forever. I thought it didn't make sense back then because I was a kid, but I still don't get it now.

Donkey Kong - September 2007
I was sitting around at school with Derek, and he told me to draw Donkey Kong. The feet are strange, so don't look at them. It looked decent in rough pencils, I swear!

Deadpool - August 2007
A head sketch of Deadpool. Everyone should read Deadpool comics! Don't let his look deceive you. He's actually pretty funny! And not Spider-Man!

Doop - August 2007
I really don't know what Doop is, but he came with my Marvel Legends Deadpool figure. He looks funny, so I decided to draw him. His "Doop Speak" word balloon says "Hello."

Spider-Man sketch #2 - September 2007
Spider-Man being Spider-Man! He's leaping over a very poorly built chimney stack, and it looks like Doctor Octopus has cut off his hand and foot! Oh no!

Gwen Stacy - September 2007
I've been reading some Gwen Stacy storylines in the Spider-Man comics, so I thought I'd draw her. Her face and hair came out kind of weird, but after several redos this was the best I could get. I hate drawing faces and hair!

Wonder Woman sketch #2 - September 2007
I know, I butchered her costume. It's okay, she doesn't care. And once again, I hate drawing faces and hair. Though, aside from the eyes being too close, I think her face turned out better than Gwen's (see image above).

Superman & Batman - August 2007
A sketch of Superman and Batman. I actually started this in 2006 with a completely different Batman and a very rough Superman, left it for a long time, then came back and redid the whole thing!

Update! Inked it.

Librarian Lady - December 2006 + 2007 (inks)
It's all in the glasses. I don't have much to say about this one. It's just some lady. The scan does it no justice.

2007 update! I inked it and set it beside the original pencils for a comparison. Take a look at the difference!

Super Saiyans - Date unknown
Remember Dragonball Z?! I remember being totally obsessed with it, which resulted in my more prolific drawing days, and lots of work with these four characters. I was still a copier back then, though. Don't mind the weird colours. It was on this yellowish paper. And Goku and Vegeta don't have legs because the pictures I copied from were cut off there...

Pimp - March 11, 2003
A semi-original creation. If you can't tell, it was based off Jack Skellington from "A Nightmare Before Christmas." Just the face and general slimness. I was kind of experimenting with exaggerated perspectives. I don't know why he has a pimp-ish look, though.

Fathom - 2004
This was a piece I drew for a grade 11 English assignment (same one I mentioned in earlier works below). Sort of my first time drawing a decent looking female She comes from the comic book Fathom by Michael Turner, who would later become an influence on my more original work. But I find his stuff boring now. It's all the same.

Speedy - Date unknown
Remember Samurai Pizza Cats?! OH YEAH! That was the first anime I liked, back when I didn't even know it was anime or from Japan! This is Speedy, their leader. He was always the best because Guido was lame and nobody cares about the girl.

Daredevil - December 1, 2006
The man without eyesight! More inking madness! Pow! Snap! Blast! I don't know what else to say. I'm getting better at drawing freehand? I don't know, that "DD" on his chest took me a pretty long time compared to everything else, and it still looks kind of strange. Oh well.

Random female - November 20, 2006
This was just some practice for me drawing females, and I decided to ink it again. The inking is a lot smoother this time because I didn't brush it by hand.

Wonder Woman - November 18, 2006
Just a simple Wonder Woman head sketch. I decided to try out some digital inking with this one since it was pretty large and not detailed. Took me two hours to do with the Photoshop brush!

Spawn - July 2, 2006
I started out just wanting to draw a Spawn head, but somehow it turned into a little study of stylized capes, which are fun to do. It's great drawing Spawn because a lot of the time you can hide half his body in the cape since it's always flowing everywhichway. One thing I love about his cape is the many layers and folds it always has, so I tried to do that as well, along with the giant collar and the "shoulders".

Rorschach - January 3, 2006
This is my favourite character from Alan Moore's coveted "Watchmen" graphic novel. He wears an ink blot mask and has that "holier than thou" attitude, which is kind of neat. I think this is one of my better works with all the shading and stuff. The Sojourn one was a little messy. This one's cleaner, and not as blendy. There's a good distinction between the hard shadows, the light shadows, and the white spaces, which I thought looked cool. Kind of like how comic books were done in the past.

Batman - 2005
Na-na-na-na BATMAN! From the "Hush" storyline by Jeph Loeb and the ever amazing Jim Lee! Look how shadowy he is! So mysterious and dark. Although the shadow he casts in front of him didn't come out too well, but without the rest of the surroundings, it's hard to make it look like it's a shadow on the ground instead of some black blurry things coming out of him.

Hitomi - 200(?)
Hitomi from the anime Escaflowne. At least I believe her name is Hitomi. I should watch that show again, it was good. I never quite got her right. Proportionally, I mean. I drew her from the head down, and I always felt that I ended up making her ever so slightly larger as I went.

Sagat - June 4, 2001
Oooh, scary. It's Mr. Sagat, from Street Fighter Alpha 2! Although he looks the same in every game, so I guess it doesn't matter that I mentioned Alpha 2. He sure has a tiny head.

Jean (Phoenix) - 200(?)
Jean Grey from the X-Men. Here she is wearing her stunning Phoenix outfit, as seen in Uncanny X-Men #...er, three-hundred-something. I don't remember.

Robo Fight - August 27, 2001
Actually, they're not robots. I'm not sure what they are. They're those giant, somewhat living mech thingies from the anime Escaflowne. Here they are doing battle as entertainment for the king who is sitting very awkwardly in a chair.

The Nautilus - Spring 2004
My drawing of Captain Nemo's ship The Nautilus, as seen in the graphic novel series The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. This was done for an English project in grade 11.

Silver Surfer - July 16, 2002
The Silver Surfer, as seen in a poster in some Spider-Man comic that I own. Look at how he shines. Makes him look spikey.

Cyclops - July 20, 2002
Cyclops, from the X-Men, copied from a page of Uncanny X-Men #304...I think. It was actually just an advertisement in the comic.

The Joker - 200(?)
Jack Nicholson as The Joker! Sort of.

Some Dude - 200(?)
This is just some weird dude. I think he was supposed to be a crazy scientist. I just tried doing another head like I did for The Joker and I came up with this.

Hawkman and Fathom - Spring 2004
This is my rendition of Hawkman and Fathom as copied from some Wizard magazine. It was done for an English project. They're supposed to be Greek gods or something, I forget. I'm particularly happy with Fathom. Hawkman's hand could've been better, but I was never good with hands.
Sojourn - Spring 2004
A slightly warped version of the comic character Sojourn. Actually, I'm not sure if that's her name, but it's the name of the series she's in. I made her taller than thinner, by accident.

Resident Evil monster - Spring 2004
It's not actually a Resident Evil monster. I really doubt you'd find this fella in any of the games, but I copied it from a very dark image of a monster from one of the games. Couldn't tell what was what, so I worked with what I could see and came up with this.
Spider-Man - 2003
Spidey from the cover of "Amazing Spider-Man, Vol. 2, Issue 43. Not much to say. It's Spider-Man...crouching...like he always does.
