Phil's comments:
Well, well, well...we finally have the long awaited second episode, eh? But there's a twist! You see, this is basically a fan request, and will probably be the last of its kind. From what I've observed since the first episode came out, Derek never really intended to do another episode. Well, maybe at the beginning, but we all get lazy, or decide to move on to other things. So since then people have been hounding us for a second episode, on the forums, on YouTube, main page comments and so forth. So as I mentioned in Can of Nothing Podcast #2, I decided I'd make it myself just to get it over and done with. Derek really had nothing to do with this other than doing once voice and giving me music and sound effects. So basically the roles were reversed, because for the first episode it was the other way around, where Derek did everything and I just did one voice.
This was probably the most rushed of our productions, taking only three days from the idea to the release. Scripted it in one day and started animating, did voices the next day, and polished it off on the last day. And it's also the most crude of the Trashimation movies. It's my first one, and I will guarantee you 100% it is my last. It's way too tedious for me. I've done tedious work in past movies, like cloning and lightsaber glows, but those are only for small shots. This is tedious from beginning to end. That's why after a certain point mouths stop synching up, and I eventually drop it altogether and use arrows to indicate who's talking. I also didn't use a tablet to draw all the frames, so it was tiring dragging a mouse around. But anyway, enjoy this one (or don't...it really is horrible), because it is the last. We're movin' on to bigger and better things! Well Derek is...has...this movie was a big step back for me in terms of my filmmaking development.
