Comments from Phil:

This film is a study of human emotion. In today's world, the television plays such a large part in our upbringing, to the point where it is like a parent. Children are always dependent on their parents, and such is the case with the TV. We become so used to it always being there for us to provide us with the entertainment we desire. But what happens when the TV doesn't provide? Ah, yes, that is the one thing we are never prepared to deal with. Some people...just don't know how to deal with it at all. One of those people is this man in the movie you can download a bit further up on this page.

Alright, so it's not quite as complex and dramatic as that, but I needed some sort of description for this movie, and I really didn't know what to say, because I really have no idea what the point of this movie was. I don't even watch TV that much, and when I do it's all sitcom reruns, so if it's one day not on it doesn't matter since I've either already seen it or know it'll be on again in a month or two. I can't even really give you a nice story this time around about where the idea came from. Could've been this one scene from a Mega64 skit where Derrick gets out of the fountain and starts screaming "I hate water!" I mimicked that in one part of this movie. But yeah, this is just one of thsoe boredom movies. The idea hit, I sat down, wrote it all in about 30 minutes, filmed and edited it in a day, and now here it is! I guess, if I have to, I can say the whole idea behind this was to show someone overreact to something so trivial. It's like it's showing how addicted we are to this "idiot box" as the Aquabats sing in the closing credits song. I never think that big, though...but it sounds cooler! I just wanted to get someone to overreact and swear a lot. It was funny to me. And I don't know how well it worked, but I tried to make "unexpected" cuts, like having the guy be a little mellow, and then cutting suddenly to him yelling "SH****************T!" Whatever! This was a very fun shoot. Tiring, but fun. Derek did a good job, and now he's going to Hell!

The real version of this movie is the censored one with the bleeps over the words, because that was supposed to be part of the comedy. I didn't even write all the wear words in the script. I always find the bleeps to have more of a comedic effect than if you hear the whole word. I don't know why, though. But anyway, I put up the uncensored version as a bonus in case you enjoy hearing the words more.
